Makeup At The Gym?



If you love makeup, and you always wear it then what is going to stop you from wearing it to the gym? After all, looking good is important at all times, even when sweating up a storm on the treadmill. Wrong... Although you may look "prettier" if you wear makeup to the gym but think about it: you are sweating, and if you have foundation, concealer or tinted moisturizer on it will mix with your sweat and get deep into your pores, clogging them and potentially causing breakouts!

Another thing that could go wrong at the gym is wearing eye makeup (mascara, liner or shadow). Since you are sweating, if your sweat runs down your forehead and drips over your eyes and you are wearing eye makeup, it could cause your eye makeup to 1. run down your face or 2. get into your eyes and burn.
Neither of those two things are attractive and the second one is painful!

Myself and other skin care experts (I am not calling myself an expert, I am just saying that experts can agree) can agree that wearing makeup to the gym can be somewhat harmful, and even more harmful if you have acne prone skin. However if you refuse to not wear makeup to the gym then I suggest wearing waterproof eye makeup and as little foundation, concealer or tinted moisturizer as you need. Wash your face with a good cleansing face wash immediately after working out to try and stop the makeup from clogging your pores.

I recommend either Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser or Biore Pore Unclogging Scrub as a nice face wash for after working out!
